Conflict TransformationPersonal and Professional DevelopmentWe are surrounded by conflict, internal and external, personal and professional, local and global. Learnings from neuroscience, systems theory and quantum physics tell us that chaos is the route to change and transformation. This highlights our conspicuous lack of education in and study of the basic and repetitive human experience of conflict. This is a highly interactive and experiential workshop which draws on Process Oriented Psychology, complexity and systems theory, emotional intelligence, and transformative learning theory. Through quantum physics and organizational development theory, this programming acknowledges that conflict itself is inherently neither positive nor negative, and that conflict and change are the route to authentic and creative transformation. The focus is on increasing our understanding of interpersonal conflict, our existing patterns in responding to conflicts, and strengthening our capacity to engage authentically, creatively and consciously with conflict. These skills and awarenesses enable us to engage effectively with conflict, avoid contributing to unnecessary conflicts and in many cases, to prevent conflicts. A framework will be offered for mapping our habitual patterns in conflict response, and experiential processes will be used to identify and articulate emotional triggers. Issues of power, privilege and rank and how they contribute to all levels of relationship and conflict, from personal to systemic, will also be addressed and explored. Participants will gain an increased understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of their own responses and strategies to various conflict situations. Participants will have the opportunity to focus on current personal conflict scenarios that they find challenging and through experiential exploration, personalize the techniques being offered. This workshop is open to all but may be of specific interest to managers, consultants, parents, educators, coaches and those in leadership who work with conflict and facilitate change processes. Due to the level of experiential content and the intention to meet the needs of each individual, group size is limited. Participant limit: Negotiable - smaller group size strengthens learning outcomes.Program Length: Half-day, 1 day, and 2 day long programs are available.
